This morning I found the quote below in a White Eagle Publication called ‘ The Quiet Mind’ and I thought I would share it with you on this dark cold wet Monday Morning
‘Resist pessimism and negative thinking both in private and national life.
Think only good. ‘Think God’
Whatever your trouble, put God, and thoughts of God in place of that trouble.
Even if he does not appear to be doing so , see your brother man is striving towards God.
See the world developing and growing more spiritual’
And as The Good Book says
‘Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.(Matthew 6: 34) .
So there you have it my friends lets starting humming Bob Marley song’ Don’t worry about a thing every little thing gonna be all right’
Have a great day
For more information,
Over the years, I have treated countless people with reflexology for poor sleeping habits with positive results. Often the origins of this disorder can be traced to an imbalance in the endocrine system especially in the pineal gland which secrets melatonin. Thankfully, no matter what causes insomnia there are several things we can do today that will help to get a good night’s sleep. These include developing a positive bedroom atmosphere, sleep preparation and last but by no means least, Progressive muscle relaxation (PMsR). In this post I will look at ways to develop a positive bedroom atmosphere.
A positive bedroom atmosphere
- Sleep is effected by smell.
Believe it or not, the atmosphere in your bedroom influences the quality of your sleeping patterns. Chaos breeds chaos. There is nothing worse than a dark damp dirty bedroom. All animals, including us mere mortals respond to smell. There is some evidence to suggest that the body releases chemicals into the atmosphere to influence the behaviour of others. These chemicals are called Pheromones and they play a role in heightened emotions such as fear and sexual arousal in men. So, it is safe to say that if we are afraid to fall sleep it is best to counteract any chemicals that may stimulate the body. Research in this area is speculative, however there is evidence to support the assumption that Lavender has a soothing and calming effect on the nervous system. I am unaware of any evidence that says lavender supresses male libido. This is something I learned from my own person experience. Anyways, back to sleep. Lavender relaxes the mind and body so it might be a good idea to spray a light mist of lavender on your sheet just before going to bed and see what happens!
- Surround yourself with soft fluffy blankets and teddies.
Likewise, soft fluffy blankets and teddies are usually not associated with sexual arousal but they do,I believe, enhance the felling of warmth and safety and all things necessary for a good night rest.
- Our mood is effected by colour
Research again on the effect of colour on sleep is abstract. There is some suggestion that soft blue sheets have a relaxing and soothing effect on the sleep wake cycle. Perhaps this is because form an aesthetic viewpoint blue is associated with the coolness of the ocean and there is nothing as healing as the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. This bring us onto the next question. What effect has sound on sleep?
- Sleep is effected by sound
The renowned sleep researcher Dr Orfeu M Burton supports this credence that the sound of the sea lulls us to sleep. The echoes of oceanic, I believe, are natural and safe and synonymous to that first heard in the womb.
- Finally, the temperature of the bedroom is also important. Its best to have it on the cooler side with a window open to allow for fresh air if possible.
Its the 1st of February.Spring has arrived.
In the words of Percy Bysshe Shelly ‘ If Winter comes can Spring be far behind’.
This inscription reminds us that that we must NEVER loose hope in the midst of our darkest despair or fear of war.
Light will dispel darkness in ways that we as mere mortals cannot imagine in our wildest dreams.
So have a great La Fheile Bride guys. Our patron saint is known to be a bearer of Light!
hugs and love
